We’ve partnered with a leading boiler and pressure vessel manufacturer that has been around since the 1950s! They are looking to add a Chief Engineer to their manufacturing plant in Commerce, CA. This individual would be reporting directly to the President and have the autonomy to drive change!
What You’ll Do
We’ve partnered with a leading boiler and pressure vessel manufacturer that has been around since the 1950s! They are looking to add a Chief Engineer to their manufacturing plant in Commerce, CA. This individual would be reporting directly to the President and have the autonomy to drive change!
What You’ll Do
- Lead ASME joint reviews.
- Understand and perform ASME pressure vessel calculation for Section 1 and Section 4 steel water-tube boilers and blowdown tanks.
- Review new ASME Code book editions and make changes to our calc’s, drawings and manufacturing procedures as required.
- Follow, edit and revise as required our ASME quality control manual.
- Maintain and coordinate calibration of all ASME test equipment.
- Write WPS, PQR’s and maintain up-to-date welder’s qualifications.
- Source and procure all ASME Code material, including welding consumables.
- Receive and mark all incoming ASME Code material.
- Organize and maintain files for mill test reports.
- Organize and maintain files for post-weld heat treat charts and NDT x-ray welds.
- Coordinate and witness hydro tests with ASME inspector.
- Inspect and sign off on travelers as pressure vessels move through the shop.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Familiarity with Canadian CRN requirements and compliance
- Experience with ASME Engineering OR Welding Engineering with capital equipment is required
- Robotic welding experience is preferred
- Experience with ESAB Combirex plasma cutting machine is preferred
- Experience with Quickmill Annhilator milling machine is preferred
- Experience with plant management is preferred
- Knowledge of power burners, draft, hydronic and steam systems, and boiler electrical systems (wiring) are preferred
