Our client is a $100M ESOP looking for a sharp Commercial Building Materials Sales Person to call on the Southeast, primarily focusing on general contractors, architects, franchises and commercial project owners. They are actively looking to increase sales within their existing footprint while expanding their reach further into the Southeastern US.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and pursue new commercial construction opportunities including multi-family, mixed-use, hospitality, education, and light commercial projects
- Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, project managers, architects, and structural engineers
- Develop strategic accounts and become a preferred supplier for key commercial builders
- Track upcoming projects and position the company early in the design and bid process
- Work with estimating and engineering teams to prepare truss proposals and bid packages
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules
- Present value-engineered truss solutions to contractors and design teams
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply agreements
- Follow projects from design through delivery to ensure customer satisfaction
- Participate in industry networking and events through organizations such as the National Association of Home Builders, Associated Builders and Contractors, and the American Institute of Architects
- Develop relationships with framing contractors and project superintendents
- Promote the company’s capabilities in engineered wood systems, design support, and delivery logistics
- Work closely with internal design, engineering, estimating, and production teams to ensure accurate quotes and efficient project execution
- Communicate customer needs and market feedback to leadership
- Support continuous improvement in sales processes and customer service
What You’ll Need
- 3+ years of sales experience in construction, building materials, or structural components is required
- Strong understanding of the commercial construction process and project lifecycle
- Proven ability to develop relationships with contractors and construction professionals
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Experience selling trusses, engineered wood products, framing systems, or building components is preferred
- Knowledge of structural design or framing practices is preferred
- Existing relationships with commercial builders, developers, or contractors in the region is preferred
