4 career questions to ask in the New Year
As the New Year approaches, many of us tend to reflect on where we’ve been and where we’d like to go in the next year.
We consider how to better ourselves by focusing on our physical or mental health. Or maybe we decide we want to grow spiritually or emotionally.
Having a job you enjoy can greatly affect all of these aspects of your growth—for better or for worse.
Is your job supporting your goals? 4 questions to ask.
If you suspect your job is affecting your physical, mental, emotional or spiritual health, and you think you might need to make some changes in the future, ask yourself these questions:
1- Does your job challenge you in the same way it used to?
2- Do you have the advancement opportunities you want?
3- Are you receiving the financial remuneration and growth you need or desire?
4- Do you have stability and a work culture you enjoy?
If you answered “no” to any of these questions, we challenge you in the next calendar year to at least consider learning about new job opportunities.
This doesn’t mean you have to take a new opportunity right away. Jumping immediately into a poor fit won’t fix anything.
But at least take a look at what’s out there. Being informed about the kind of options available to you puts you in the driver’s seat.
And who knows, you just might find an opportunity that’s perfectly suited to you and the kind of growth you desire.
