Who They Are
Our client is an Indiana-based, privately held, woman-owned/led dealership for a major commercial furniture company. They need a seasoned designer to support their largest healthcare account on a national expansion project. This is a client-facing design and project management role offering a strong base salary plus commission on revenue from all your client’s projects. This role blends space planning, quoting, client presentation, and cross-functional coordination to help ensure projects move from concept through installation on-time and within expectations. All-in, total earnings for this role will easily land in the high five-figure or low six-figue range.

What You’ll Do
  • Support the company’s relationship with clients, onsite designers, and facility contractors through clear communication, responsiveness, and effective coordination
  • Prepare quotes and pricing using Hedberg and future ERP systems
  • Use CET to create layouts and space plans that fit within the building envelope and align with client needs
  • Present design and product solutions to clients, including drawings, basic renderings, and budget estimates
  • Manage assigned project details and help ensure execution stays within timelines established by the client and Account Executive
  • Conduct or coordinate site verification and field measurements to confirm proper furniture fit
  • Create install drawings and stay engaged through all phases of the order placement and installation planning process
  • Coordinate projects with Network Partners for out-of-state execution
  • Communicate electrical requirements with architectural and electrical project teams
  • Work closely with furniture vendor partners in coordination with the Account Executive to support project execution
  • Maintain and advise on customer furniture standards
  • Participate in audit activities, departmental meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development
  • Maintain confidentiality while protecting the company’s information and client trust

What You’ll Need
  • Four-year degree in Interior Design or a related field
  • Minimum of two years of experience with a design firm or furniture dealer
  • Knowledge of CET
  • Hedberg experience, especially budgeting and quoting
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining follow-through across longer project timelines
  • Strong stakeholder coordination skills with clients, vendor partners, and internal teams
  • Clear communication and presentation skills across a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions within established parameters, and coordinate closely with a collaborative team
  • Strong attention to detail in layouts, measurements, quotes, drawings, and project documentation
  • Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to develop effective client solutions
  • Working knowledge of building codes, basic design principles, and key furniture products
  • Comfort balancing structured project requirements with changing client needs
