Our client is seeking an experienced Plant General Manager to lead a high-volume structural component manufacturing facility supporting residential construction markets throughout the region. This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, improving manufacturing performance, developing a strong production team, and ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality, service, and efficiency.
What You’ll Do
- Lead all plant operations including production, safety, quality, maintenance, scheduling, shipping, and inventory management
- Develop and execute operational strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability
- Manage and develop a workforce of 100+ employees, including production supervisors, leads, and support teams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, increasing throughput, improving labor efficiency, and optimizing processes
- Establish and maintain a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence
- Partner with sales, estimating, design, engineering, and customer service teams to ensure production schedules and customer commitments are achieved
- Monitor key performance indicators including production output, labor costs, quality metrics, on-time delivery, and safety performance
- Develop annual operating plans, budgets, and capital improvement recommendations
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, equipment utilization, and workflow
- Build a strong leadership pipeline through coaching, training, and employee development
What You’ll Need
- 5+ years of experience as a Plant Manager, General Manager, Operations Manager, or similar senior manufacturing leadership role
- Proven leadership experience within roof truss, floor truss, wall panel, or structural component manufacturing
- Experience managing a manufacturing facility with 100+ employees
- Strong understanding of truss production processes, manufacturing flow, scheduling, and production optimization
- Experience leading high-volume production environments with measurable improvements in safety, quality, cost, and delivery
- Demonstrated success developing supervisors and frontline leadership teams
- Strong financial acumen including budgeting, labor management, cost control, and operational forecasting
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred
