This facility serves as one of the company’s regional door and millwork hubs, producing hundreds of pre-hung interior doors daily while supporting professional builders and contractors throughout the region.

We are partnering with a well-established and growing manufacturer in the building products industry to identify a Production Manager for its Lansing, Michigan door manufacturing operation. This facility serves as one of the company’s regional door and millwork hubs, producing hundreds of pre-hung interior doors daily while supporting professional builders and contractors throughout the region.
What You’ll Do
- Lead all first shift production activities to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery goals.
- Directly manage six supervisors/team leads while providing leadership to a large hourly production workforce.
- Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Coach and develop frontline leaders while driving employee engagement and retention.
- Monitor daily production metrics including throughput, labor efficiency, quality, scrap, and downtime.
- Partner closely with Maintenance, Quality, Scheduling, Shipping, and Customer Service to maximize operational performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, reduce waste, and increase production capacity.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Lead daily production meetings and communicate expectations across departments.
- Support staffing, scheduling, training, and succession planning initiatives.
What You’ll Need
- 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in a high-volume production environment.
- Previous experience leading supervisors, team leads, or front-line leaders.
- Strong hands-on leadership style with a visible presence on the manufacturing floor.
- Demonstrated success improving productivity, quality, safety, and employee engagement.
- Experience leading manufacturing teams of 50+ employees preferred.
- Experience in door, millwork, cabinetry, windows, woodworking, furniture, building products, or other discrete manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze production metrics and implement process improvements.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
