We’ve partnered with a 3rd-generation, Michigan-based, family-owned component manufacturer specializing in high-end custom residential construction. With a 40+ year track record and a strong reputation in the market, they are known for their employee-first culture, stability, and consistent project pipeline. Due to the retirement of a 30-year veteran designer, they are looking to add a remote Truss Designer to support a smooth transition and long-term growth.

What You’ll Do
  • Design roof and floor truss systems for custom single-family residential projects
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to ensure accurate and efficient design execution
  • Learn directly from a tenured designer to support knowledge transfer and continuity
  • Review plans and specifications to develop structurally sound truss layouts
  • Ensure designs meet all building codes, engineering standards, and customer requirements
  • Support ongoing project flow across Midwest-based residential construction projects
What You’ll Need
  • 6+ years of roof and floor truss design experience
  • Strong understanding of LVL header construction
  • Experience with Alpine and Boise software
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Experience with custom residential design work preferred
  • Must live and work in one of the following states: WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, MI, PA, or NC
