Spencer brings an interestingly varied background to his recruiting career. While he hasn’t always recruited talent for companies, he’s always had a similar goal: helping people. He earned his B.S. in Clinical Exercise Science from Grand Valley State University (#lakerlife!) with the goal of becoming a physical therapist. When he realized that wasn’t his passion, he pivoted, bouncing between the insurance sales world and B2B sales. Still not entirely satisfied, he decided to make one more career shift: recruiting, where he can help people more directly by matching them with the next step in their career journey.
Outside of work, Spencer enjoys golfing with his buddies, playing basketball, spending time with his friends and family, and swimming at his parents’ house (it’s right on a lake!). A fun fact about him: when he was growing up, his dad got him interested in bonsai (yes, like the tiny cultivated trees). He actually has a few he’s working on, but—as you might imagine—it takes a long time and requires a lot of patience. Still, Spencer loves the whole process.
