What You’ll Do
- Blends both technical and commercial skill sets, making them well-suited for the DSM position
- Solid construction knowledge/ exposure to both pre-engineered metal buildings and some commercial work
- Comfortable operating in environments with highs and lows, including handling rejection and continuing to build pipeline
- Demonstrates a clear understanding of how the business cycle works, including long sales timelines and project development stages
- Does not need to be 100% technical or 100% sales-focused—has a balanced mix of both, which aligns well with successful DSM profiles
- Understands relationship-building over time and how to develop builders and drive repeat business
- Comfortable selling on value and relationships, not just price
- Travel 3-4 days per week, sometimes overnight, to visit builder officers, job site, and attend customer meetings
