This will be someone who can oversee day-to-day systems while driving long-term innovation in ERP, infrastructure, and data security. You’ll be both a strategic thinker and tactical executor, leading a lean, capable IT team. You’ll also own the systems that power their high-volume operations, all the way from ERP optimization to co-located infrastructure, secure networks, and vendor ecosystems.

You’ll be both a strategic thinker and tactical executor, leading a lean, capable IT team. You’ll also own the systems that power their high-volume operations, all the way from ERP optimization to co-located infrastructure, secure networks, and vendor ecosystems.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the daily activities of the IT department, including help desk support, infrastructure support, software support, project tasks, system maintenance, and user service needs.
- Prioritize incoming IT requests, system issues, support tickets, hardware needs, software changes, and department projects.
- Provide direction, coaching, and support to IT team members to ensure work is completed accurately, timely, and in alignment with company priorities.
- Monitor daily IT operations to ensure employees across all branches receive dependable support.
- Assist the CIO in setting IT priorities, assigning work, reviewing progress, and ensuring accountability within the department.
- Promote a customer-service mindset within IT by ensuring employees receive timely communication, clear expectations, and effective issue resolution.
- Develop and improve standard operating procedures for recurring IT support tasks, system changes, onboarding, offboarding, troubleshooting, and technology requests.
- Track recurring issues and recommend process, training, or system improvements to reduce repeat problems.
- Lead initiatives to identify, evaluate, and implement AI-driven tools that improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity across the business.
- Work with Sales, Operations, Finance, Procurement, HR, Warehouse, and Millwork to understand current processes and recommend automation opportunities.
- Modernize software services by improving integrations, reducing manual data entry, and supporting better use of business systems.
- Assist in developing AI-supported workflows for reporting, order entry, quote entry, purchase order processing, inventory analysis, customer service, production scheduling, and document processing.
- Evaluate current software platforms and recommend improvements, replacements, integrations, or process changes.
- Partner with the CIO to create a technology roadmap that supports long-term business growth and operational improvement.
- Support responsible AI use by helping establish standards for security, data privacy, accuracy, approval workflows, and employee adoption.
- Oversee key areas of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, workstations, cloud services, communications systems, business applications, and security tools.
- Help ensure systems are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with company needs.
- Monitor infrastructure performance and work proactively to prevent downtime, security risks, and operational disruptions.
- Support branch technology needs, including connectivity, hardware, software access, printers, phones, warehouse technology, and user access.
- Assist with system upgrades, migrations, vendor management, licensing, hardware replacement planning, and lifecycle management.
- Maintain documentation for systems, procedures, support processes, vendor contacts, technology standards, and escalation paths.
- Provide leadership and support for core business applications, including ERP, CRM, WMS, LMS, communication platforms, reporting tools, and other operational software.
- Work with software vendors and internal users to troubleshoot issues, improve system performance, and implement enhancements.
- Bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
- Ensure users are trained on technology changes and that new tools are implemented with clear communication and support.
- Assist with reporting and data improvement initiatives to give leadership better visibility into business performance.
- Assist the CIO in managing IT priorities, projects, vendors, support requests, department goals, and daily workload.
- Lead IT team meetings, review open issues, identify roadblocks, and ensure follow-up on assigned tasks.
- Help develop IT team members by providing guidance, training opportunities, performance feedback, and exposure to new technologies.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, documentation, teamwork, and measurable results.
- Help ensure the IT department is proactive rather than reactive by identifying risks, recurring problems, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the company’s cybersecurity program by helping maintain secure systems, access controls, endpoint protection, patching, backups, and monitoring tools.
- Assist with security reviews, audits, policy enforcement, and employee awareness.
- Ensure AI and automation tools are evaluated for security, privacy, and data protection risks before implementation.
- Help manage user permissions, role-based access, and system security standards.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Systems, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of progressive IT experience, including infrastructure, business systems, application support, IT operations, or IT leadership.
- Experience leading day-to-day IT support activities, prioritizing work, supporting users, and managing technology issues.
- Experience managing or supporting ERP, CRM, WMS, cloud platforms, networks, security tools, and business applications.
- Strong understanding of automation, system integrations, reporting tools, and modern software platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage vendors, solve problems, and communicate with both technical and non-technical users.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance daily support needs and long-term strategic projects.
- Experience supervising, mentoring, or directing IT team members preferred.
- Experience implementing AI tools, automation platforms, workflow tools, or business process improvements preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Azure, SQL/reporting tools, APIs, and cloud-based business systems preferred.
- Experience with ERP, warehouse management, distribution, manufacturing, or building products industry systems preferred.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Cybersecurity certifications or experience with endpoint protection, identity management, and compliance practices preferred.
- Experience creating dashboards, reports, and data-driven business recommendations preferred.
